where do i find internet connection service, not there in services of the system..

pls help…getting error 56 when i log in with some other user name..is it profile problem,,..?

i tired all the above includeing the ICS disabling but still i am not able to run cisco vpn and error 56 persists someone please help me.. this is driving me mad

Thanks a million Zhigang Wu. I struggled with this problem for the better part of an afternoon last week. For me the VPN service was intermittently working but failing more often than not. Now it works all the time and life is rosey once again.

Zhigang Wu, you are a genius!! I have had this issue with the Cisco client for weeks. I just tried you solution (disabled ICS on my wireless connection) and it worked!!

I’m running Vista with Cisco Client V. 5.0.01.0600

Lamnk, today, I have found the problem. Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Service is killed by Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).

I stopped the ICS service manually and then I can run VPN client.

No, i only encountered this error on two user’s laptops ( lucky, because you need to restart you computer at least 2 times to remove and install the software and THAT is a PITA with Vista ).

Lamnk, thank you very much. I have reinstall the Cisco VPN. it works. But sometime after restart computer, I will met Error 56 again. It seems when the computer connect the internet will occurs this problem oftenly. Did you have same experience?
